FULL ITINERARY

Day 1 | Entebbe International Airport

(Approx. 10 minutes)

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by a Safari Lux representative and transferred to your hotel, just a short 10-minute drive away. As evening falls, set off on a scenic sunset cruise across Lake Victoria, enjoying cheese, wine, and panoramic views of Africa’s largest lake. Raise a glass to the beginning of an unforgettable journey through Uganda, the Pearl of Africa.

Day 2 | Kibale Forest National Park

Early morning breakfast, meet your driver/guide and head to Kibale Forest National Park driving through the beautiful country side with rolling green hills covered with tea plantations, we shall stopover for lunch in Fort Portal town, enjoy local cuisines unique to Uganda.

Day 3 | Chimpanzee Tracking

Start your day with an unforgettable adventure. After breakfast, attend a 7:30 a.m. briefing before heading into the forest to track chimpanzees. Spend an hour observing their playful behavior, grooming rituals, and tree-swinging agility—a thrilling encounter with our closest wild relatives.

Return to the lodge for a warm lunch and relaxation.

In the afternoon, visit Bigodi Swamp, a community-led conservation project. Walk the trail spotting birds and primates, and end at a local homestead to learn traditional coffee-making. Your visit directly supports local conservation efforts.

Day 4 | Bwindi Forest National Park

(Approx. 380 km | 6 hours)

Depart Kibale and enjoy a scenic drive through the crater lakes region into Fort Portal, a charming town at the base of the majestic Rwenzori Mountains. Continue south toward Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, passing through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park—famous for its tree-climbing lions. Enjoy a game drive and a relaxed lunch en route.

As you near Bwindi, drive through traditional villages, offering a glimpse into local life. After check-in, take a leisurely evening stroll through Buhoma village. Visit a local coffee farm to learn the process from planting to brewing, stop at a traditional gin distillery, and meet a village healer to gain insight into ancient forest practices.

Day 5 | Gorilla Tracking

Rise early for an unforgettable encounter with Bwindi’s mountain gorillas. After a morning briefing, join a small group and track a designated gorilla family with your expert guide.

Carry essentials like waterproof boots, rain gear, gloves, snacks, water, and camera gear. Upon finding the gorillas, spend an extraordinary hour observing their daily life—feeding, playing, and nurturing their young—before enjoying a picnic lunch in the forest.

Return to the lodge for a relaxing massage.

In the afternoon, visit Ride 4 a Woman, a community project where you can learn traditional crafts, cook local dishes, watch cultural performances, or cycle through the village and forest trails.

Day 6 | Departure

Depart Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and transfer to Kihihi Airstrip for a scenic flight back to Entebbe. Depending on your schedule, you’ll take either a morning or afternoon flight, arriving at Entebbe International Airport to connect with your onward international departure.

If your flight is scheduled for early in the day, we recommend arranging an overnight stay in Entebbe to ensure a smooth connection.
