FULL ITINERARY

Day 1 | Entebbe International Airport

(Approx. 10 minutes)

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by a Safari Lux representative and transferred to your hotel, just a short 10-minute drive away. As evening falls, set off on a scenic sunset cruise across Lake Victoria, enjoying cheese, wine, and panoramic views of Africa’s largest lake. Raise a glass to the beginning of an unforgettable journey through Uganda, the Pearl of Africa.

Day 2 | Murchison Falls National Park

(Approx. 350 km | 6–7 hours)

Begin the day with an early breakfast before checking out and setting off on a scenic drive north to Murchison Falls National Park. Along the way, visit Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary—the only place in Uganda where wild rhinos roam. Enjoy a warm lunch en route before entering the park, where the landscapes shift into the lush Budongo Forest and open savannahs.

If time allows, stop at the Top of the Falls for a breathtaking first glimpse of the mighty Murchison Falls. Arrive at your lodge in the evening, where dinner and a restful overnight stay await.

Day 3 | Game Drives and Launch Cruise

Start your day with a fresh cup of coffee and homemade muffins before setting out on an early morning game drive with your guide. Traverse the open savannah plains of Murchison Falls National Park in search of the Big Five—elephants, lions, buffaloes, Rothschild’s giraffes, and Jackson’s hartebeest—alongside Uganda kob, oribi, waterbuck, and an array of birdlife.

Return to the lodge for a leisurely breakfast and a moment to relax, perhaps with a swim overlooking the Nile. After lunch, embark on a tranquil boat cruise to the base of Murchison Falls, offering remarkable views of hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and abundant water birds. For the best photographs, sit on the left side of the boat. Disembark at the base for a rewarding hike to the top of the falls, where sweeping panoramas and the roar of the water await—a truly unforgettable experience.

Day 4 | Fly to Bwindi Forest National Park

After breakfast, board a scenic one-hour flight from Bugungu Airstrip to Kihihi Airstrip, offering sweeping views of Uganda’s diverse landscapes. Upon arrival, transfer to your lodge, where you’ll check in, enjoy lunch, and relax amidst the forested surroundings.

In the late afternoon, immerse yourself in local life with a community village walk. Visit a coffee farm to learn about the growing and brewing process, explore a traditional gin distillery, and meet a village healer who shares indigenous knowledge. Alternatively, opt for a guided forest walk to discover Uganda’s remarkable flora and fauna.

Return to Gorilla Forest Camp for dinner and a peaceful overnight stay, surrounded by the soothing sounds of the rainforest.

Day 5 | Gorilla Tracking

Rise early for the ultimate adventure: a face-to-face encounter with Bwindi’s majestic mountain gorillas. After a morning briefing at the park headquarters, you’ll be divided into small groups of eight, each assigned a gorilla family to track under the guidance of an expert ranger.

As you venture into the dense forest, ensure you are equipped with essentials: your passport, waterproof hiking boots, light rain gear, gloves, a walking stick, and a waterproof backpack for snacks, water, and camera equipment.

Once the gorillas are located, spend an unforgettable hour observing them up close—watching their daily rituals of feeding, playing, and nurturing their young. Pause for a picnic lunch in the forest, immersed in the sights and sounds of the jungle.

After this extraordinary experience, return to the lodge for a well-deserved massage to ease your muscles and reflect on the incredible memories made.

Day 6 | Optional Second Gorilla Tracking or Community Visits

Rise early for another unforgettable day in Bwindi. Choose to embark on a second thrilling gorilla tracking adventure, deepening your understanding of their behavior and forest habitat.

Alternatively, immerse yourself in local culture with a visit to the Batwa community or Ride 4 a Woman, a women’s empowerment initiative offering an authentic East African experience. Learn traditional basket weaving, cook local dishes, or watch vibrant performances of music and dance. For a more active afternoon, rent a bicycle and explore the community trails or the forest fringes.

Day 7 | Gorilla Tracking

Take a morning flight from Kihihi Airstrip to Entebbe International Airport. Upon arrival, meet your private guide and set off on a scenic drive to Jinja (approximately 3 hours), Uganda’s second-largest town, known for its stunning views of the Nile River and Lake Victoria.

In Jinja, you can choose from a range of activities, including a boat ride to the Source of the Nile, white-water rafting, horseback riding, or quad biking.

End the day with dinner and an overnight stay at Wildwaters Lodge, set on a beautiful private island in the heart of the Nile.

Day 8-9 | Adventure in Jinja

Spend two days at your own pace, either relaxing at Wildwaters Lodge on a private island oasis or opting for an adrenaline-fueled adventure with white-water rafting (available at an additional cost). Navigate the mighty rapids of the Nile—renowned as some of the finest rafting waters in the world.

Whether you choose leisurely pursuits or high-energy exploration, the evening concludes with dinner and a peaceful overnight stay at Wildwaters Lodge.

Day 10 | Departure from Entebbe

After a leisurely morning, depart Jinja and drive back to Entebbe International Airport (approximately 2 hours | 120 km). Enjoy lunch en route in Entebbe before connecting with your international flight, carrying with you unforgettable memories of your Ugandan adventure.
