Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by a Safari Lux representative and transferred to your hotel, just a short drive away. As evening falls, set off on a scenic sunset cruise across Lake Victoria, enjoying cheese, wine, and sweeping views over Africa’s largest lake—a perfect way to toast the beginning of your Ugandan adventure.

After an early breakfast, transfer to Entebbe International Airport for your domestic flight to Kihihi Airstrip near Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You may choose between a morning flight (07:00–08:45) or an afternoon flight (12:00–13:45), depending on your preference. Please note that luggage is limited to 15 kg in soft-sided bags.

Upon arrival at Kihihi, a lodge representative will meet you for the scenic one-hour drive to your lodge, nestled in the heart of gorilla country.

After check-in and lunch, enjoy one of two optional activities:

Community Village Walk: Visit a local coffee farm, a traditional gin distillery, and a village healer for an authentic glimpse into daily life.

Guided Forest Walk: Explore Bwindi’s rich biodiversity with an expert guide, discovering the forest’s hidden botanical treasures.

Rise early for one of Africa’s most extraordinary adventures: a face-to-face encounter with Bwindi’s majestic mountain gorillas. After a morning briefing at the park headquarters, you’ll be divided into small groups of eight, each assigned a gorilla family to track, accompanied by an expert guide.

As you trek through the dense forest, be sure to carry essentials: your passport, waterproof hiking boots, light rain gear, gloves, a walking stick, and a waterproof backpack for snacks, water, and camera equipment.

Upon locating the gorillas, spend an unforgettable hour observing their natural behavior—feeding, playing, and nurturing their young—in the heart of the jungle. Enjoy a picnic lunch surrounded by the forest’s vivid sights and sounds before making your way back.

Return to the lodge for a well-deserved massage, easing the day’s exertions while you relive the magic of your encounter.

Rise early for another unforgettable day in Bwindi. You may choose to embark on a second thrilling gorilla tracking experience, deepening your understanding of these extraordinary creatures and their forest home.

Alternatively, immerse yourself in the region’s rich cultural life with a visit to the Batwa community or Ride 4 a Woman, a local women’s empowerment initiative. Learn traditional basket weaving, participate in cooking local dishes, or watch vibrant performances of music and dance. For a more active experience, rent a bicycle and explore the surrounding villages or trails along the edge of Bwindi Forest.

Depart Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and transfer to Kihihi Airstrip for a scenic domestic flight back to Entebbe.

Depending on your schedule, you will take either a morning or afternoon flight, arriving at Entebbe International Airport to connect with your onward international departure.
