Day 1 | Entebbe International Airport

(Approx. 10 minutes)

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by a Safari Lux representative and transferred to your hotel, just a short 10-minute drive away. As evening falls, set off on a scenic sunset cruise across Lake Victoria, enjoying cheese, wine, and panoramic views of Africa’s largest lake. Raise a glass to the beginning of an unforgettable journey through Uganda, the Pearl of Africa.

Day 2 | Murchison Falls National Park

(Approx. 350 km | 6–7 hours)

After an early breakfast, check out and set off on a scenic drive north toward Murchison Falls National Park. Along the way, visit the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, home to Uganda’s only wild rhinos, and enjoy a warm lunch en route. As you approach the park, take in sweeping views of Budongo Forest and the surrounding landscapes. If time allows, stop at the Top of the Falls for a dramatic first glimpse of the mighty Murchison Falls. Arrive at your lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3 | Game Drives & Launch Cruise

Start your day with a fresh cup of coffee and homemade muffins before setting out on an early morning game drive with your guide. Traverse the open savannah plains of Murchison Falls National Park in search of the Big Five—elephants, lions, buffaloes, Rothschild’s giraffes, and Jackson’s hartebeest—alongside Uganda kob, oribi, waterbuck, and an array of birdlife.

Return to the lodge for a leisurely breakfast and a moment to relax, perhaps with a swim overlooking the Nile. After lunch, embark on a tranquil boat cruise to the base of Murchison Falls, offering remarkable views of hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and abundant water birds. For the best photographs, sit on the left side of the boat. Disembark at the base for a rewarding hike to the top of the falls, where sweeping panoramas and the roar of the water await—a truly unforgettable experience.

Day 4 | Queen Elizabeth National Park

(Approx. 400 km | 7–8 hours)

After a relaxed breakfast, bid farewell to Murchison Falls National Park and set off on a scenic drive south toward Kibale National Park. Enjoy a warm lunch en route in Hoima town. The journey unfolds through the picturesque Albertine Rift Valley, passing traditional villages and sweeping rural landscapes. As you near Kibale, the scenery shifts to lush tea plantations and serene crater lakes. Arrive at Ndali Lodge in the evening, surrounded by breathtaking views.

Day 5 | Chimpanzee Tracking

Start your day with an unforgettable adventure! After breakfast, head to the park offices for a 7:30 am briefing, then venture into the forest to track the fascinating chimpanzees. Upon sighting spend 1 hour observing these incredible creatures up close, watching them go about their daily routine – from playful antics and grooming sessions to feeding and caring for their young. Witness their agility as they swing through the trees, and experience the thrill of being in the presence of our closest animal relatives. This unique encounter is sure to leave you with lifelong memories!

In the afternoon, explore the Bigodi Swamp wetland, a community-led initiative renowned for its exceptional biodiversity. As you meander through the trail, you will spot different bird species and primates, the trail leads at a local homestead, where you’ll discover the art of coffee-making, from grinding to brewing.
Your visit supports the community’s conservation efforts, as the fees generated are reinvested in environmental protection and sustainability initiatives, benefiting the local people and their natural surroundings.

Day 6 | Enjoy Ndali and its surrounding Crater Lakes

Discover the beauty of Ndali with guided walks across the 1,000-acre farm and its working vanilla plantation, or venture out to the picturesque Muhoma Falls. Explore the crater rims, observe traditional brewing methods, and wander through lush plantations of bananas, vanilla, coffee, and other crops. Relax at the lake’s secluded jetty—perfect for swimming, sunbathing, or simply unwinding in nature’s quiet. For a more active afternoon, take the inflatable kayak along the lakeshore and watch for colorful birdlife and passing wildlife.

Day 7 | Queen Elizabeth National Park

(Approx. 185 km | 3 hours)

Depart after breakfast and drive through the picturesque crater lakes region and the historic town of Fort Portal, set at the base of the towering Rwenzori Mountains. As you approach Queen Elizabeth National Park, enjoy sweeping views of the distant ranges. Before reaching your lodge, you may visit the Katwe salt pans and nearby volcanic crater lakes for a glimpse into the region’s fascinating geology and culture.

Arrive at your lodge in time for lunch and some relaxation. Later, head out for an evening game drive across the mating grounds of the Uganda kob, where you may also spot lions, elephants, buffaloes, and other wildlife in their natural environment.

Day 8 | Lion Research Experience & Boat Cruise

This morning, join park rangers for a rare lion research experience, tracking lions and learning firsthand about the delicate balance between wildlife and local communities. This exclusive activity—offered only in Queen Elizabeth National Park—offers a deeper perspective on conservation efforts. Continue with a game drive before returning to the lodge for lunch and a moment to relax.

In the afternoon, embark on a scenic boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a 33-kilometer natural waterway linking Lakes Edward and George. The channel teems with wildlife—hippos, Nile crocodiles, buffaloes, elephants, and a dazzling array of bird species. Pass by a traditional fishing village before soaking in the golden glow of sunset and the park’s quiet beauty.

Day 9 | Ishasha Sector - Queen Elizabeth National Park

Enjoy a relaxed morning before checking out of the lodge at leisure. Depart the northern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park and drive south to the Ishasha Sector (approximately 125 km | 2 hours), renowned for its rare tree-climbing lions.

Arrive in time for lunch and a bit of rest. In the afternoon, set out on a game drive in search of the iconic lions perched in fig trees, alongside elephants, buffaloes, and other wildlife. Conclude the day with a beautiful sundowner, as the sun dips below the vast savannah horizon.

Day 10 | Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

(Approx. 100 km | 2 hours)

Begin the day with an early morning game drive followed by a bush breakfast, then continue your scenic journey south to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, the sanctuary of the mountain gorillas. Along the way, pass through rural villages and traditional homesteads, offering a glimpse into everyday Ugandan life.

Upon arrival, check in and enjoy lunch, followed by some time to relax. In the late afternoon, join a community village walk to experience the rhythms of life near Bwindi. Visit a local home to learn about the coffee-making process—from bean to brew—stop by a traditional gin distillery, and meet a village healer to hear about indigenous medicine. Alternatively, take a guided forest walk to discover the region’s unique plants and wildlife, setting the stage for tomorrow’s gorilla trekking adventure.

Day 11 | Gorilla Tracking

As you venture into the dense jungle, be sure to carry essentials—your passport, waterproof hiking boots, light rain gear, gloves, a walking stick, and a waterproof backpack stocked with water, snacks, and camera gear.

Upon finding the gorillas, spend an extraordinary hour observing them up close—watching as they feed, play, and care for their young in their natural habitat. Afterward, enjoy a picnic lunch surrounded by the sounds of the forest.

Return to the lodge for a well-deserved massage, soothing tired muscles and allowing you to reflect on one of Africa’s most moving wildlife experiences.

Day 13 | Lake Mburo National Park

After breakfast, bid farewell to the misty forests of Bwindi and set off on a scenic drive to Lake Mburo National Park (approximately 250 km | 4–5 hours). En route, stop for lunch at the Igongo Cultural Centre, where you can explore the museum and gain insight into the rich heritage of the Ankole people.

Upon entering the park, enjoy a leisurely game drive across the rolling savannahs, taking in the diverse landscapes and wildlife. In the afternoon, you may opt for a relaxing boat cruise on Lake Mburo, offering excellent birdwatching opportunities and serene views.

Your home for the night is Mihingo Lodge, where you’ll enjoy dinner and a peaceful overnight stay.

Day 14 | Safari Walk & Departure

Start the day with an exhilarating safari walk in Lake Mburo National Park, accompanied by an expert ranger. This guided experience allows you to observe wildlife on foot and appreciate the smaller wonders often missed on traditional game drives.

Return to the lodge for a hearty breakfast before setting off on your journey back to Entebbe International Airport (approx. 250 km | 4–5 hours). En route, stop at notable landmarks, including the Equator, where you can enjoy lunch, capture memorable photos, and shop for local crafts.
