A Day in the Life of a Rural Ugandan Lady, this unique culinary adventure begins with a dugout canoe ride, followed by a visit to a local farmer and his family. Explore the fields and harvest your own vegetables, fruits, and herbs. Join your host in the homestead kitchen to prepare a traditional dish over an open fire enjoy a meal with the family and learn about their rich cultural heritage. FULL ITINERARY

Day 1 | Kigali City Tour

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative and transferred to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, enjoy a guided city tour of Kigali, visiting the Genocide Memorial, vibrant art galleries, bustling markets, and the inspiring Nyamirambo Women’s Centre.

Relax and unwind at Heaven Boutique Hotel (King Room) or The Retreat (high-end).

Meal Plan: Breakfast

Day 2 | Bwindi Forest National Park

After breakfast, we’ll begin a scenic drive to Uganda via the Cyanika border post, a journey of approximately five hours. Once we’ve cleared customs and immigration, we’ll proceed to the stunning Lake Mutanda and check in at your lodge.

Enjoy a relaxed lunch at the lodge before setting out on a serene dugout canoe ride across Lake Mutanda—a peaceful and picturesque way to experience the lake’s charm.

Overnight: Chameleon Hill Lodge (Midrange) or Clouds Mountain Gorilla View Lodge (High-End)

Day 3 | Gorilla Tracking

Rise early for a once-in-a-lifetime encounter with Bwindi’s mountain gorillas. After a briefing at the park office, you’ll be placed in a small group and assigned a gorilla family, accompanied by a trained guide.

Bring your passport, hiking boots, rain gear, gloves, and a waterproof backpack with water, snacks, and camera gear. The trek through the forest can be challenging, but the reward is unforgettable—an hour spent observing gorillas in their natural habitat as they feed, play, and care for their young.

After your trek, return to the lodge for a well-deserved massage.

Afternoon: Rural Life & Cooking Experience

Take a dugout canoe ride across Lake Mutanda to a local homestead. Harvest fresh ingredients, cook a traditional dish over an open fire, and share a meal with your host family. Enjoy storytelling and music as you experience the rhythm of rural Ugandan life.

Day 4 | Departure

Enjoy a relaxed breakfast before transferring to Kigali. En route, stop for lunch and, if not visited on the first day, tour the Kigali Genocide Memorial. Continue to the airport for your outbound flight.
